TTSX ActiveX Control - Version 1.0
Version 1.0 - Released December 26, 2002
This text-to-speech ActiveX control enables your PSK31, or any other text-based application, to "speak".
It provides the following features:
- Customizable lookup file for translating text. For example, if you give the TTSX control the string "73",
it translates and speaks it as "best wishes".
- Asynchronous operation. Unlike typical TTS engines, the TTSX control does not block your application
while it is speaking. The text is queued and then rendered by an asynchronous processing thread,
allowing your application to continue decoding PSK31 text with low CPU impact.
- Based on Microsoft's Speech Application Programming Interface (SAPI) library. SAPI is a no-license product
that Microsoft provides to encourage the development of Windows software applications.
- Simple. The somewhat complex COM interfaces for SAPI are abstracted to a simple set of methods,
properties, and events that make application development simple, in your programming language of choice.
